Vietnamese Proverbs and Folk Poetry
This collection gathers key works documenting Vietnamese proverbs, folk songs, riddles, and idioms from the early 20th century. Highlights include Nguyễn Văn Ngọc Ôn-như’s four-volume Tục-ngữ Phong-dao (1928), which preserves regional sayings, proverbs, riddles, and folk poetry; Phó bảng Hoàng Tăng Bí’s 200 bài hát Ả Đào (1928), an anthology of ceremonial songs; and Triệu Hoàng Hòa’s Tục ngữ An Nam dịch ra tiếng Tây (1924), translating Vietnamese proverbs into French.
