Call for Papers | International Conference "Vietnamese Literature from Doi Moi to the Present (1986-now)"

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Đổi Mới (Renovation), the Institute of Literature under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences is pleased to announce the international conference:

 

📚 “Vietnamese Literature from Đổi Mới to the Present (1986–2026)”

 

The conference aims to critically reflect on the achievements, limitations, transformations, and future directions of Vietnamese literature over the past four decades, while fostering scholarly dialogue on literary theory, criticism, creative practice, reception, and the place of Vietnamese literature in an era of global integration and contemporary change.

 

🔹 Topics include (but are not limited to):
• Vietnamese literature in the context of Đổi Mới and socio-economic transformation
• Achievements and limitations of Vietnamese literature (1986–2026)
• Literary theory, criticism, translation, and dissemination
• Major literary trends, genres, authors, and representative works
• Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to literary studies
• Emerging challenges and future prospects for Vietnamese literature
