Digitizing Việt Nam warmly invites you to attend the event “Digitizing Vietnam: Vietnamese Studies in the Age of Digital Humanities and Artificial Intelligence.”
Digitizing Vietnam is an inter-institutional digital hub that harnesses the power of Digital Humanities (DH) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to advance Vietnamese Studies in a comprehensive way. Funded by the Henry Luce Foundation and housed within Columbia University’s Vietnamese Studies Program, the project collaborates with Fulbright University Vietnam to develop digital collections, research tools, pedagogical resources, and platforms for sharing knowledge about Vietnam with broader audiences.

This event marks the official launch of the Digitizing Vietnam Digital Humanities (DH) Hub and AI platform—a multi-functional system designed to support research, teaching, and scholarly collaboration.
The program brings together scholars, technologists, and researchers to explore how Digital Humanities and Artificial Intelligence are reshaping Vietnamese Studies. Through presentations, workshops, and discussions, participants will have the opportunity to:
◆Experience new DH and AI tools firsthand
◆Explore Digitizing Vietnam’s digital collections and curatorial practices
◆Reflect on the opportunities and limitations of AI in the humanities and social sciences
The program includes:
◆Introduction to the Digitizing Vietnam platform and hands-on, application-focused workshops
◆Panels on DH & AI in Vietnamese and East Asian Studies
◆Roundtable discussion: “The AI Horizon”
The project team hopes this event will serve as a space for connection across disciplines, methods, and scholarly communities, helping to shape the future of Vietnamese Studies in a digital and AI-driven context.
