Research Conference "Heritage and Digital Transformation: Challenges & Opportunities"

As digital transformation continues to reshape every aspect of contemporary society, cultural heritage is also undergoing profound changes in the ways it is preserved, accessed, interpreted, and experienced. The national scientific conference “Heritage and Digital Transformation: Challenges and Opportunities” aims to create an interdisciplinary dialogue among scholars, cultural practitioners, technologists, heritage managers, and educational institutions to reflect on the future of Vietnamese heritage in the digital age.

 

The conference brings together researchers and institutions working across culture, heritage, technology, and digital humanities, including:
• Vietnam Folk Arts Association
• Institute of Cultural Studies
• Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture
• University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City
• Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies
• Southern Institute of Social Sciences
• Vietnam Studies Center – Fulbright University Vietnam
• Representatives from UNESCO Vietnam

 

The conference program will explore a wide range of topics, including:
• Blockchain applications in cultural heritage management
• Data, power, and institutional challenges in heritage digitization
• Urban heritage in digital spaces and the culture of “check-ins”
• Building digital ecosystems for cultural heritage in Vietnam
• Digital humanities and AI practices in Vietnam Studies

 

As part of the conference, Digitizing Việt Nam will also participate in presenting the project and its ongoing initiatives in digital humanities and AI for Vietnam Studies.
