The Vietnam Studies Group (VSG) invites proposals for its Designated Panel at the 2027 Association for Asian Studies (AAS) Annual Conference, to be held in Boston, Massachusetts, March 18–21, 2027.

This year, the VSG has the opportunity to designate one panel for guaranteed acceptance into the AAS 2027 conference program.

The VSG welcome proposals for complete organized panels in Vietnam Studies, consisting of:

• A panel abstract
• Three or four paper abstracts
• Author information
• A chair
• (Optional) A discussant

Proposals will be evaluated based on their scholarly excellence, originality, and potential to make a meaningful contribution to Vietnam Studies, while also meeting the AAS diversity guidelines.

Submission deadline to VSG: Monday, July 20, 2026

Please consult the AAS 2027 Call for Proposals for detailed submission guidelines. Organizers are encouraged to prepare their submissions in the AAS online system while submitting their proposal to the VSG.
