Sound of Vietnam
"Sound of Vietnam" brings together distinctive soundscapes from both urban and rural life, reflecting the rhythms of daily activities, labor, and the social and economic practices of the Vietnamese people. In particular, the archive preserves the auditory traces of cultural practices that are gradually disappearing under the pressures of urbanization—from traditional street cries and karaoke echoing through alleyways to the voices of children playing the game ‘5–10’. The collection has been developed with contributions from the Vietnam Sound Library

Saigon Markets

"Saigon Markets" reconstructs the rhythms of market life across different times of the day, based on field recordings collected between November 2024 and May 2025. The collection reflects the sonic transformations tied to patterns of labor, commodity exchange, and social interaction, while also providing important ethnographic data for the study of urban life and the impacts of urbanization in contemporary Vietnam.
